A little information about the members of STrIPES. Please click on anyone's name that you wish to contact directly.
Ollie Ollie is a Paediatric Registrar in Wessex and the Co-Lead for the Prep 1.2 training programme. He is an NLS instructor and regularly teaches on the STrAP courses as well as other simulation training days, both aimed at medical students and post-graduate Trainees. Alongside his clinical & teaching commitments, he is heavily involved in the Paediatric School Board and is chair of the RCPCH Trainees Committee.
Fiona Fiona is a paediatric trainee who is passionate about paediatric medical education and simulation. She has developed a teaching and simulation programme for 5th year medical students (pRESUS) and has launched the project deanery wide. She currently works as an education/quality improvement fellow in Southampton and is undertaking a Masters in Education/Simulation. She teaches regularly on local courses and is undergoing APLS instructor candidate training.
Ahmed Ahmed is a paediatric intensive care trainee, who is coming to the end of a Masters in Medical Education. He is particularly interested in simulation, undergraduate education and inter-professional learning. He is currently working in Australia as a PICU Fellow, but will be back in Wessex in the future.
Kate Kate is a paediatric registrar. She teaches on NLS, STrAP and other GP training days. She enjoys the challenges and fun of teaching a multidisciplinary team. Her education innovation is Flash Mob Teaching, designed to provide teaching in a busy department like the ED. She enjoys the supportive meetings of STrIPES and the teaching opportunities that have given her. She recommends anyone who enjoys teaching should come along to see what they can get out of it.

STrIPES Alumni
STrIPES is led by trainees, but our alumni still play an important role in providing supervision for the group.
James James is a consultant who has completed a quality improvement fellowship in simulation training. He has developed the STrAP courses for GPs and GP trainees, and regularly teaches on APLS, NLS and other simulation training courses. James is one of the co-founders of STrIPES and is passionate about expanding the scope of trainee- and MDT-delivered education within the region.
Katrina Katrina is a consultant and recent Wessex trainee with experience in clinical research, having conducted a clinical trial and submitted an MD. She was involved in setting up in-situ paediatric simulation on the paediatric wards in Southampton and the start of SNAPS. She teaches regularly on the faculty development course, EPLS and NLS. She has also had involvement with the RCPCH trainees committee and general paediatric group.
Seb Seb is a consultant with interests in education, networking and sharing good practice. He co-authored "The Unofficial Guide to Passing OSCE's" and regional guides for MRCPCH and START. He is Vice Chair of the RCPCH trainee committee, UK representative for the European Young Paediatricians Association (EURYPA) and founder of the PAFTA's (Paediatric Award For Trainee Achievements).
