Welcome to the homepage of the Thames Valley & Wessex Neonatal Nursing Qualified in Specialty (QIS) Pilot Programme

This Neonatal QIS Programme curriculum has been developed by Susi Hill and Kim Edwards with the collaboration of the Thames Valley and Wessex Neonatal Practice Educators and Specialist Nurses. The RCN’s ‘Career, education and competency framework’, the ‘Matching knowledge and skills for QIS Neonatal nurses: A core syllabus for clinical competency’ documents, and mapping of previous skills competence QIS Programmes have underpinned the framework and development of this programme.

This Neonatal QIS Programme will be piloted for one year commencing November 4th, 2019. There will be 38 QIS learner’s representative of most of the Neonatal Units within TV and Wessex Network. This is an extremely exciting time for the QIS learners, Practice Educators and the Network. We are an exemplar of excellent practice, as other Networks are looking to emulate and map the Programme.
